Obituary of Edith M. Webb Kirkpatrick ~ 2008

Edith M. Webb Kirkpatrick, age 92 of Marion passed away Tuesday October 21, 2008 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center.  Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born in Madison County on May 15, 1916 and was a daughter of the late Calvin and Julie Plemmons Webb.  She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, a devoted wife and mother and a beloved friend.  She was preceded in death by her husband Coman Kirkpatrick, a son Ray, one sister Cartie Coward and four brothers: Leonard, Ballard, Clyde and Thurman Webb.

Surviving Mrs. Kirkpatrick are two special friends, Joyce Gurley and Bea Smith; two nephews, Bill Coward and wife Ruth of Marion and Dr. Gerald Webb of Atlanta; three nieces, Sandra Cox of Johnson City, Phyllis DeHart of Charlotte and Brenda Laney and husband Wayne of Greenville, SC; one daughter-in-law Betty Kirkpatrick of Atlanta and a sister-in-law Hattie Webb.

A funeral service will be held Thursday October 23, 2008 at 11:00 am in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Tom Walker officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association PO Box 1131 Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.  An online register is available under OBITUARIES at www.westmorelandfuneralhome.com.
