Obituary of Johnny Lamb ~ 2009

Mr. Johnny Lamb, age 66 of Nebo passed away on Friday February 6, 2008 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of McDowell County, Johnny was born August 15, 1942 to the late Paul Lamb and Cora Jane Randolph Lamb. He was a Deacon at Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Coats American. Johnny will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather and will be affectionately known as “pawpaw.” In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce Ann Hall Lamb and a sister Virginia Gurley McCampbell.
Mr. Lamb leaves behind to cherish his memory a daughter Jayne Edwards and husband Scott of Nebo; two brothers: Donald Lamb of Marion and Ralph Lamb and wife Elizabeth of Michigan; two sisters: Janie Gurley and husband James of Tennessee and Jewel Noblitt of Marion; three grandchildren, Sarah, Matt and Katherine.
A funeral service was held on Monday February 9, 2009, at 3:00 PM in Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Davin Johnson and Rev. Jerry McClain officiating. The family received friends from 2:00-3:00 PM one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial was in Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund 7065 US 70 East Nebo, NC 28761. Westmoreland Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
