TROY A. LEDFORD 

MARION – Troy A. Ledford, 88, died Thursday, July 12, 2001 in McDowell County
Hospital. He was the son of the late Flecher and Martha Ledford, and husband
of the late Louise McKinney Ledford. He was also preceded in death by 10
brothers and sisters. A member of Freedom Baptist Church in Black Mountain and
formerly a long-time member of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church, he was also
past clerk of First Freewill Baptist Church. He was retired from the N.C.
Department of Corrections and did a tour of duty with the Merchant Marines. 

Survivors include his wife, Marie Wright Ledford of the home; daughter,
Delores L. Ross of Charlotte; sons, Roger Wright of Linville Falls, Danny
Wright of Charlotte, Lanny Wright of Bakersville, and Donald McKinney of
Marion; niece Jean Marlow; 10 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Westmoreland
Funeral Home. Revs. Carl Roland and Ernest Craig officiated. Burial was in
McDowell Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at
the funeral home. Memorials donations may be made to the American Cancer
