Obituary of Rev. Harold Lyons ~ 2009

Rev. Harold Lyons, age 68 of Marion entered into his Heavenly reward on Friday March 13, 2009 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. A son of the late Fred Lyons and Maude Stafford Lyons, he was born in Mitchell County on November 10, 1940. Harold was a member of the End Time Anointing Church in Marion and was the former assistant pastor at True Faith Baptist Church until its closing. He was retired from Broyhill Furniture Company following over 40 years of service. His family and friends will forever remember him as a loving husband, father and “Pa”.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Wanda Whitehead Lyons; two sons, Jeffrey Lyons of Morganton and Johnny Lyons and his wife Tracy of Old Fort; a sister, Jean Frady and her husband Sam of Marion; three grandsons, Dillion, Aaron and Alex; and special friends, Jack and Patsy McClellan of Nebo.

A funeral service was held on Monday March 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Calvin Lonon officiating. The family received friends from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial was in Chapel Hill Baptis Church Cemetery.
