Obituary of Lester Elijah Patton ~ 2008

Mr. Lester Elijah Patton, age 80 of Nebo passed away Sunday September 21, 2008 surrounded by the ones he loved. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all. He was a member of Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp. having served during WWII. Preceding Mr. Patton in death was his wife Rita Patton, son Flub Patton and grandson Corey James Patton.
Left to cherish Mr. Patton’s memory are: William Patton, son and wife Dianne of Nebo, Donald Patton, son and wife Leigh Ann of Morganton, Ricky Patton, son of Nebo, Mary Harlee, daughter and husband Don of Nebo, Kathleen Hollifield, daughter of Nebo, Joyce Patton, daughter-in-law of Nebo; five brothers: Gormin, Jack, Gene, Jim and Burton Patton; two sisters: Dorothy Bowlby and Rae Childers; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday September 24, 2008 at 12:00 noon at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Milton Hollifield, Sammy Sutton, Pete McCombs and Alan Sailors officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 23, 2008 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Westmoreland Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
