Obituary of Walter Gene Revis ~ 2008

Mr. Walter Gene Revis, age 76 of Marion passed away Wednesday November 26, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Revis was born in Amelia, VA on October 28, 1932 and was a son of the late Walter and Carrie Wright Revis. A U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Revis served in the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman. He was multi-talented as a cabinet maker, butcher and electrician. Above all, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Preceding Mr. Revis in death was a daughter Sharon Lynn Smith.
Left to cherish Mr. Revis’ memory is his wife Charlotte Padgett Revis of the home; four children: Sheila Revis Shelton and husband Randall of Albemarle, NC, Donna Greene Goodman of Granite Falls, NC, Teresa Revis Kincaid of Lenoir, NC, Gary Revis and wife Angie of Taylorsville, NC; four step-children: Charles Rose and wife Gladys of Oklahoma City, OK, Judy Bragg and husband Harold of Marion, Donna Walker of Marion and John Rose of Charlotte; two brothers: Billy Revis of Marion and Wade Revis of Old Fort; two sisters: Lois Duncan of Marion and Doris Hitt of Nebo; sixteen grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday November 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Jim Brewer officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment was in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Army from Fort Bragg, NC.
