Obituary of Rev. Jimmy Allen Rose ~ 2009

Rev. Jimmy Allen Rose, age 64 of Marion passed away unexpectedly on Friday March 27, 2009. A native of Avery County, he was born on August 7, 1944 to the late Garfield and Ruth Whittington Rose of Morganton. A member of Peppers Creek Baptist Church, he also pastored other churches over the years. His family and many friends will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and good friend. Two children, Randy Rose and Sheila R. Davis preceded him in death.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife of 28 years, Sue Branch Rose; four children, Kenneth Rose and Terry Rose, both of Marion, Reba Rose of Crossnore and Jackie Rose of Marion; three brothers, Robert Rose and Mackie Ollis, both of Morganton and Mickey Ollis of Lenoir; two sisters, Linda Ollis of Morganton and Donna Franklin of Spartanburg, SC; fifteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many friends.
A funeral service was held on Monday March 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Revs. T. J. Addison and Daniel McMahan officiating.
The family received friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial was in Snow Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Peppers Creek Baptist Church. An online register is available under OBITUARIES at www.westmorelandfuneralhome.com.
