Obituary of Virginia Swafford Sisk ~ 2008

Virginia Swafford Sisk, age 79 of Nebo passed away Monday December 29, 2008 at her residence. A native of Prince George County, Va., she was born July 12, 1929 to the late James D. Holler and Maggie Swafford. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a brother James Daniel Swafford and a step-father George P. Bailey. She was a member of Nebo First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Sisk leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Ralph B. Sisk of the home, five daughters: Dianne Bennick and husband Leonard of Nebo, Kay Simmons of Old Fort, Sherry Jones and husband Johnny of Morganton, Patti Wood and husband Jack of Marion, Debbie Smith of Nebo; a sister Louise Church and husband Harold of Marion; nine grandchildren, Missy Duckworth, Todd Bennick, Jonathan Bennick, Stephanie Lytle, Scott Simmons, Chris Jones, Tracy Jones, Daniel Smith and Darren Smith; nine great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday December 31 at 12:00 noon at Nebo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hall Hollifield and Rev. Doug Worley officiating. The family received friends from 11:00-12:00 noon, one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was in Nebo First Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
