Obituary of Vann Edward Wall ~ 2008

Vann Edward Wall, age 60 of 13096 Montford Cove Road, Marion passed away Tuesday November 11, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC after several years of declining health. He was born October 14, 1948 in Marion, NC. He was the son of the late Cread T. Wall and Melva Fortune Wall of Marion. He was a member of the 1967 graduating class of Marion High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of Broyhill Furniture Industries. He was a member of Montford Cove Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Church Trustee. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.
In addition to his mother, Vann is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Linda Harris Wall; one son Chad E. Wall and his wife Kate Biggerstaff Wall of Union Mills; one daughter Heather Wall Thompson and her husband Chris Thompson of Marion; three brothers, Robert Wall, David Wall and Phillip Wall and wife Angela, all of Marion. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Malarie and Micajah Wall and Makenzie and Mason Thompson; his mother-in-law Devue Hall Harris; and his extended family at the VA Medical Center Nursing Facility in Asheville.
The family received friends at Westmoreland Funeral Home on Friday, November 14 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services were held Saturday November 15 at 2:00 pm at Montford Cove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. The body lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
