Cookbook from Swansboro Methodist Church

While browsing the Internet Archive tonight I came across this recently added item – a cookbook from the Women’s Society of Christian Service published in 1968.

cookbook-imageThe beginning pages of the cookbook includes a handwritten recipe for Rum Cake, and a brief history of the church.  The Swansboro Methodist Church was founded March 1, 1871 and the first congregation included about 15 local families. Worship was held in the old Brick Store and in a house owned by Richard Webb.

Check it out for some interesting reading. If you end up making something from the book, be sure to let me know!

Note: If you are unable to see the book embedded in this post, you can access the book online here.
