The Last Will and Testament of
July 22, 177?-March 1772
Be it remembred that I THOMAS PRICHARD of the County of Pasquotank being well and in good health and of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God for the same therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die Do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth and to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Exr. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless in this life I gave demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
Impromise it is my will and I do ordain that in the first place all my just debt and funeral charges be paid and satisfied.
Item: I give and bequeath unto JAMES PRICHARD my well beloved Son and his heirs a negro boy named Sampson and one feather bed and one cow and calf that he now has.
Item: I gave & bequeath unto JOHN PRICHARD my well beloved Son and his heirs the upper end of my land called and known by the name of Turkey Ridge containing One Hundred acres more or less and one horse and two cows and earline and one feather bed or the value of one feather bed which he know has all but the bed.
Item: I give and bequeath unto JESSE PRICHARD my well beloved Son and his Haris the plantation part of my land containing Seventy Five acres more or less and one young mare and one cow and calfe and one feather bed.
Item: I gave and bequeath unto ELIZABETH JACKSON my well beloved Daughter one feather bed that she now has.
Item: I gave and bequeath unto DOLLEY RELFE my well beloved Daughter one feather bed that she now has.
Item: I gave and bequeath unto ANNE ROWE my well beloved Daughter one feather bed that she now has.
And the remaining part of my Estate after DORCAS SANDLEN and KEZIAH PRITCHARD my well beloved Daughters is made up to one feather bed or the value of it apiece then the remaining part of my Estate to be left the use of my beloved Wife PETHIAR PRICHARD during her natural life or widowhood then after that to be equally devided between JOHN PRITCHARD and JESSE PRITCHARD and ELIZABETH JACKSON and DOLLY RELFE and ANN ROWE and DORCAS SANDLIN and KEZIAH PRICHARD.
I do hereby constitute and appoint my Two Sons JOHN PRICHARD and JESSE PRICHARD Executors and Executors to this my Last Will and Testament Witnessing whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ye 22nd day of July 177?(off edge of paper)

The Last Will and Testament of THOMAS PRICHARD was exhibited by John Prichard Executor there to proved by the oath of Arthur Prichard in due form of Law the Execution aforesaid Qualified by taking the oath law appointed ordered.
