What’s New

June 10, 2017

Hi…I’m Sylvia, the new Stokes County coordinator. I live in this area and my earliest (known) relative arrived in 1804. So I am always interested in the history of Stokes County! Don’t hesitate to ask questions, submit information, or say hello! If you hit a brick wall, not just in Stokes County, don’t hesitate to ask, I’m pretty good at solving mysteries 🙂

If you haven’t seen them, here’s just a few of our local Churches and Cemeteries

I recently found an interesting article about the Eaton family from Stokes and Surry County. If you can’t find them, this might explain why…………this is a public record containing pension information for service in the Revolutionary War.

Christian Valentine and Christopher Eaton
