BENJAMIN MORGAN to MAJOR EVANS-1794

This Indenture made this Nineteenth day of July one Thousand Seven Hundred & Ninety four between BENJAMIN MORGAN of Franklin County & State of North Carolina of the one part & MAJOR EVANS of Granville County & State aforesaid of the other. Witnesseth that the sd BENJ. MORGAN for & in consideration of fifty pounds currency in hand paid before the ensealing & delivery hereof the rest whereof he the sd BENJAMIN MORGAN doth acknowledge and thereof doth acquit & discharge the sd MAJOR EVANS his heirs, Excrs, Admrs. or assigns hath granted bargained & soles & by these presents bargain sell enfeoff & confirm unto the sd MAJOR EVANS his heirs or assigns one certain tract or parcel of land lying on the waters of the New light Creek- In Granville County & bounded as follows Beginning at a black Jack near the head of the Spring branch thence along a line of marked trees a southwardly course to JOSEPH NEAL's line on his line East to a poplar in Buckhorn branch thence up the sd branch to the mouth of the Spring thence up the Spring thence up the sd Spring branch to the first Station it being part of a tract of land granted by deed from his Execellency RICH'D CASWELL to SOLOMON FULLER from FULLER to DAVID HARRIS from HARRIS to JEREMIAH NEAL from NEAL to BENJ. MORGAN from MORGAN to MAJOR EVANS his heirs & assigns forever the sd land & premises within the above mentioned bounds containing one hundred acres more or less. To have & to hold the sid lad & plantation unto the sd MAJOR EVANS with all the appertenances thereunto belonging to the only proper use & behoof of him the sd MAJOR EVANS, his heirs & assigns & he the sd. BENJ. MORGAN, his heirs or assigns will warrant & forever defend by these presents against the claim of him the sd BENJ. MORGAN, his heirs, or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever. I witness hereof he the sd BENJAMIN MORGAN hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year first above written.

JOHN MINOR to WILLIAM EVANS-1842
Deed Book 12, Pages 100-101

This Indenture made and entered into this 16 day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty two between JOHN MINOR of the County of Granville and State of North Carolina of the first part and WILLIAM EVANS of the County and State aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $277.97 in hand paid to the said JOHN MINOR by the said WILLIAM EVANS the receipt is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and by these presents doth bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said WILLIAM EVANS as Trustee for WINEFRED TILER and the heirs of her body a certain tract or parcel of land it being in the county of Granville on the waters of Hatch's run bounded as follows, Beginning at a red oak TILER's corner in MALLORY line running East 111 poles to a post oak then South 150 poles to a stone thence North 85 degrees East 103 poles to a post oak then North 86 degrees West 147 poles to the beginning containing 92 acres and 106 poles which said tract of land the said JOHN MINOR doth agree to warrant and forever defend the right and title and the said WILLIAM EVANS Trustee for WINEFRED TYLER and the heirs of her body forever against the just claim or claims of every other person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof the said JOHN MINOR hath set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written.
