Death of Miss Laura Philpott

This good woman has been gathered to the Great Beyond, laving breathed her last on Saturday at her home near Oxford, after an illness of three or four weeks. She was numbered among the pure christian ladies of our community, being among the zealous members of the Presbyterian church.
She leaves behind two maiden sisters to mourn her loss, to whom the warmest sympathies of our people go out in the hour of their sad bereavement.
The funeral was conducted from the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. Mr. Wharton, pastor of Geneva church, in the presence of a large congregation. The interment took place in Elmwood cemetery.

(Under Satterwhite Sayings).

The second time in about four months, Mr. I. N. Hobgood is called upon to mourn the death of a member of his family. His youngest daughter, Miss Nancy, died on Wednesday, October 28th. She was a member of White Rock Baptist church and we believe a good little Christian girl. She was beloved by all who knew her and her little play mates and friends will miss her forever on earth though they should make themselves contented and try to meet her again on high. Dr. R.H. Marsh conducted the burial services at the home on Thursday at 2:30 o'clock p.m. and the interment took place at the family grave yard. To the bereaved father, sisters and brothers we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
