Know all men by these presents that I JOHN FALKNER of Warren County and State of North Carolina have bargained, sold & delivered unto SOLLOMON ARNOLD of the County and State aforesaid my part which is one half of a Negro girl named PEG about 12 or 13 years old, for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds currency to me in hand paid and I the said JOHN FALKNER do for myself my heirs excr's and administrators or assigns warrant & for ever defend the wright[sic] & title of one half the s'd Negro PEG & her Increase to the said SOLLOMON ARNOLD as witness my hand and seal this Seventh Day of October one thousand Eight hundred and one JOHN FALKNER ("X" his mark)

GEORGE FOGG to NANNIE ANDERSON- 1853

This Indenture made this 28th day of December A.D. 1853 between NANNIE ANDERSON of Louisburg North Carolina of the one part and GEORGE FOGG of the same State and County of Warren of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said GEORGE FOGG, in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath this day bargained and sold, and doth by these presents sell and confirm unto the said NANNIE ANDERSON and her heirs and assigns forever, a tract of Land, with its appurtenances, situated in the County of Warren and State of North Carolina and bounded as follows: Beginning at a white oak, on the South edge of the Bell Road, running south 42° East 48 chains to two bay shrubs and a maple pointer, on the bank of the left prong of Reedy Creek, thence down the stream to the fork, at a forked black gum tree, thence up a ditch that conveys the water of said stream to the above named Bell Road, thence along said Road to the beginning, containing twenty five acres, more or less, to have and to hold the said tract of land and its appurtenances, against the said GEORGE FOGG and his heirs or assigns, and agains the claims of all persons whatever forever, and the said GEORGE FOGG doth for himself, his heirs, assigns &c covenant and agree forever to defend unto the said NANNIE ANDERSON her heirs and assigns the title to the same, against the claims of all other persons. In testimony the said GEORGE FOGG hath hereunto set his hand and seal, the day and year above written.

LUCY FOGG to ALLEN & CREASY GREEN- 1854

This Indenture made and executed this 15th day of May A.D. 1854 by and between LUCY FOGG of the first part and ALLEN GREEN and his wife CREASY GREEN of the other part all of the County of Warren and State of North Carolina (all free persons of color). Witnesseth that the said LUCY FOGG for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to her in hand paid the receipt, whereof is hereby acknowledged and for divers other good causes, do this day give bind and deliver unto the said ALLEN GREEN and his wife, my son named JESSEE - who will be twelve years old on the 1st day of July next, to live with and serve them as a servant until he arrives to the age of Nineteen years and the said ALLEN and CREASY for and in consideration of the agreement of the said LUCY FOGG, do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs &c that we will feed, clothe and lodge the said JESSEE during the term of years aforesaid, and will use all reasonable means to raise the said JESSEE in a just and moral manner also to instruct him in farming &c and further we agree to treat well at all times both in sickness and in health and never to move him out of the State or County unless, by the entire sent of him and the said LUCY.
