Know all men by these presents that I CHARLES KING of Mecklenburg County, State of Virginia for several good causes and considerations thereunto moving me but more especially for the natural love and affection, I do bear unto my son STERLING KING of Warren County and State of North Carolina have given unto the said STERLING KING one Negro boy named JACK to him his heirs and assigns forever all my right title & claim of the said Negro thereunto belonging to and for the life benefit & behoof of him my said son his heirs or assigns forever as witness my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of December Eighteen hundred & four.
