This deed made this 1st Sept. 1894 by J. HERBERT TAYLOR of Vance County and State of North Carolina of the first part and H.T. HOWARD of Warren County and State aforesaid of the second part, Witnessseth
that the said J.H. TAYLOR for and in considerationof the sum of Fourteen hundred and Eighty five dollars in hand paid to him by said party of second part hath bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents doth bargain, sell and convey to the said H.T. HOWARD and his heirs the following described tract or parcel of land & situated in the county of Warren and State of North Carolina being a part of the Buck Spring tract of land lying in River Township and bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning at a stake in the south boundary line of the said Buck Spring Plantation on the east side of a path or road 27½ ch east of MRS. MYRICK's corner thence N2½ E15 ch 45 links to a stake and pointer thence N57¾ W 77¾ ch to Hubquarters Creek thence up said Creek as it meanders about 27½ ch to a bunch of chopped willow as the east bank of said Creek thence S57¾ W56 ch to a stake and stones in the south boundary line of said Buck Spring Plantation (2¼ ch east of MRS. MYRICK corner) thence S87½ E25¼ ch to the beginning containing 191½ acres by recent survey makde by C.H. SCOTT Surveyor to have and to hold the same unto the said H.T. HOWARD and his heirs and assigns forever.
And the said J.H. TAYLOR covenants that he is seized of said tract of land in fee that the same is free from all encumbrances & that he will forever warrant and defend the same unto the said H.T. HOWARD and his heirs & assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever the testimony whereof the said J.H. TAYLOR hath hereunto set his hand and seal this the 8th day of September 1894.

I N.D. BOYD a Justice of the Peace do hereby certify that J.H. TAYLOR appeared before me this day and acknowledged before me the execution by him of the foregoing deed of conveyance and for the purpose therein expressed.

This Deed made this the 2nd day of April 1877, by WILLIAM TOWNES & wife MARY E. TOWNES of Warren County and State of North Carolina to TOM GREEN and ALFRED WRIGHT of Warren County and State of North Carolina Witnesseth: That said WILLIAM TOWNES & Wife MARY E. TOWNES in consideration of One hundred & sixty dollars to them paid by the said TOM GREEN and ALFRED WRIGHT, the receipt of which in hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said TOM GREEN and ALFRED WRIGHT and their heirs tract or parcel of land in Warren County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of MRS. AILSEY WALKER, FENTON HAWKINS, MISS BETTIE WIGGINS, & others bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning at a pine FENTON HAWKINS corner thence E 110 p to a stone, thence N 17 p 20 L to a stone, thence W 110 p to two hickorys, thence S 17 p 20 L to the beginning. The said TOM GREEN and ALFRED WRIGHT each to have & to hold an undivided interest in said containing twelve and seven eight acres be the same more or less it being the lands bought of MRS. AILSEY WALKER by deed conveyed and duly in the Register's office at Warrenton, North Carolina and which will more fully describe the same. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto, belonging to the said TOM GREEN and ALFRED WRIGHT their heirs and assigns to their only me and behoof. And the said WILLIAM TOWNES covenants that he is seized of said premises in fee and have right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from all incumbrances, and that he will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof, the said WILLIAM TOWNES & wife MARY E. TOWNES have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.

Be it remembered that on the 21st day of April 1877 before me, WM. A. WHITE, Judge of Probate personally appeared MARY E. TOWNES wife of WM TOWNES & one of the grantors named in the foregoing deed, who acknowledged the due execution thereof, by her as her act and deed The execution of said deed by WM TOWNES is proven by W. J. HAWKINS the subscribing witness as to the said WM. TOWNES and thereupon the said MARY E. TOWNES being by us privately examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her free consent to the execution of said deed. She on such her examination declares that she executed the same freely of her own will and accord, and without any force, fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person and does still voluntarily assent thereto, and hereby relinquishes her right of dower in said land. Let the said deed with this certificate, be registered.
