Comments:	My GGGrandfather Samuel Davis Bennett was born in Warren Co abt 1808. I have conflicting data from relatives stating that Samuel's parents were: 1. William Bennett and Harriet Elizabeth Davis 2. Elizah Bennett (Ireland) and Elizabeth Davis Hill Any help on Samuel's parents would be appreciated. One account also says that Samuel had at least 5 brothers who were hard-shelled Baptist preachers. Samuel moved to Brunswick Co Virginia and married Francis William Beverly Hill and then moved to Georgia in the 1840s.

Comments:	Good afternoon, My great grandfather was born Wille M. Walker, born March 5, 1882. Willie M Walker married Sophie Russell. I am looking for his birth records and any information regarding his father, Herbert/Hubbard Walker born 1860 - Herbert married Emma N.N. between 1880-1881. He was a freed slave and worshipped in a Baptist church. Can you suggest where I should look for any records(birth, marriage or death records) where information on this family may be found. Comments:	Good Afternoon, I am searching for information on the African-American Allen's and Boyd's of Warrenton,North Carolina. My Great-Grandfather Joseph Allen was born in Warrenton North Carolina July 1885 to Alice Allen. I don't know if Allen was her birth name or married name. Alice later had a daughter Georgia Allen who was born in 1891 in Warrenton. Some time I am guessing in around 1885 she had a son Charles Allen who was born in Virginia in 1896. In the 1910 census Alice was married to William Boyd and living in Norfolk, Virginia. In the 1920 census Alice and William were back in Warrenton and Virginia my dad's cousin born in 1913 was living with them. I believe William died in 1933 in Warrenton. Alice I am told moved to Baltimore and died there year unknown. I was also told that Alice and William lived on a farm and that Alice had family that owned a grocery store in the 1950's. Alice is believed to have had American Indian ancestry. Joseph's biological father name unknown is believed to have been white; according to my eighty-one year old great aunt. Comments:	Looking for information about the Reverend Rooker and his children. Oral tradition says that my ancestor was not his oldest son. So WHO WAS? We think his name was William and was born around early 1782. In Va like Elizabeth. I am trying to connect the eldest Warren county Rookers to the Rev to see who was brother, cousin or son. I am trying to go back to 1400 in all my pedigrees and I try to at least two generations out for indirect Rooker women and 4 for the men. After I get source records for each one I will start a webpage. I am using Ancestry to get my piles of paper into orderly info. As I said I found the oldest girl Betty Rooker Reeves born in VA. But if my guy Jos D was # 4 as tradition holds I am missing a name, or two if the oldest boy wasn't name William after his dad or bro. Thanks J Rooker

Comments:	I am a descendent of Joseph Dorris Rooker who was often in Warren with his father the Rev. John Rooker. Something had them going between York SC and Warren so I suppose it was other family members. His brother John Hawkins Rooker was even born there. Our oral history conflicts on whether Anna Pollard Hawkins married John in Warren or Northumberland. And if she was born in Warren or Granville. I am one of the few left that remembered enough names to find the Rev. solid. after that I am less sure of connections in my tree. Is there a way to check local church records from online yet? JD Powell married a Loveda Eggleston and they had 13 kids, 8 left, all in Oregon now. John Henry Powell married his 3rd wife, Theodosha Pruitt, and it is believed they had my father, JD Powell. But, it is also possible that James S A Powell also married a Henri Ollie Brown and they had my father, JD Powell.

Boyd, who was listed as an editor/publisher. E. D. Oslin was originally from Boydton, VA, where I believe Mr. Boyd also published a newspaper in the 1870's. Family lore says E.D. was bound out as an apprentice printer when he was 15, after his father died in 1873. He came to Florida in the 1880's and founded several weekly newspapers in the 1880's, 1890's and early 1900's. Any information would be appreciated.
