MORRIS / RIGGS

Mary Morris Bishop September 18, 2007

I am researching the MORRIS family which originated in Bayboro, N.C. My great-grandfather was Joseph A. MORRIS (born 1846) and his wife was Sarah Ann (RIGGS) MORRIS (born 1853). They had 12 children, of whom my grandfather was the third. I have the dates of birth and death for Joseph and Sarah Ann and for all but one of their children. I am not sure of the date of death for Mabel (MORRIS) BLAND. In addition, another cousin is doing research and has listed many of the children and grandchildren of the siblings. I would be happy to communicate with anyone else who is researching this family.

MORRIS / COLLINS

Frances Ray  July 12, 2014

I am researching gggrandparents, John Washington MORRIS & Louisa CAREY & their daughter Emily MORRIS. I am also searching Emily's husband, Francis "Frank" COLLINS.   He disappears after the 1880 Federal Census.  I have not been able to find any death information (dates of death, where buried, etc.)   Emily's daughter, Virginia (Ginny, Jenny) was my grandmother.  Virginia married Robert CARRAWAY, son of Solomon CARRAWAY & Henrietta IVES.  Robert died abt. 1894, leaving Virginia with their young baby, Minnie CARRAWAY.  Minnie was engaged to a young man whose last name was MILLS, but would not marry him as she had a terminal illness.  In 1900 Virginia married my grandfather, Lafayette "Fate" Demarcus Lindsey SIMPSON, only son of John Dockin SIMPSON & Cenie CARRAWAY.   If anyone has information regarding any of the persons in my query, I will greatly appreciate any assistance you may offer.  Thank you!
