Community Center Cemetery

Location: West or North Hog Island, northeast of Cedar Island, Carteret Co., NC
Directions: Following Hwy 12 across Wildlife Refuge to a point where the road turns to the left to Cedar Island, directly to the right across the inlet is a group of islands called Hog Island.  After the post office was established, it was given the name of Lupton.
Description: This cemetery was over grown with vines, briars and scrub oaks.  There were a lot of headstones that had been knocked over and a lot of them were marked with a lightwood post.  It was hard to see how many are buried here.
