CLARK / MOORMAN   November 29, 2003

I am searching the CLARK family of Louisa Co, VA. Francis Clark and wife Cordelia Lanf(k)ford, among
their children, had Sarah who married Thomas Moreland or Moreman or MOORMAN. The Clark family sailed
from England to Barbados in the 1600s with the Moorman family. The younger members of the family moved
to NC about 1750, including Sarah and Thomas Moreman, probably with her brothers, Joseph, Francis,
Christopher, Isaac, and Benjamin, locating on the Pee Dee in Anson Co, NC. Joseph had farms in Louisa,
VA and Anson Co NC and had a son, Beverly, whom he willed part of his NC lands. Christopher and wife
Elizabeth Stone lived, farmed, owned fisheries, boats, and mastered ships; Isaac and Francis with wife
Christiana Stone returned to VA after a stay. Christopher had two sons in Anson, Joseph and Francis.
Sarah and Thomas Moreman are found in Quaker records. Did Thomas Moreman have a NC will or other
information. Thomas Gilbert

ALLRED / EWING / BOSTICK / ARMSTRONG   October 25, 2003

The web site Richmond County Estate Record of Isaac Armstrong is no longer available, but
James Armstrong's is available. I am related to many of the people in the estate records.
I am JAMES ALLRED. JOSEPH ALLRED / ELIZABETH EWING were my Grandparents. ISAAC ALLRED &
ELIZA JANE BOSTICK were my GGraand Parents. I am also related to ISAAC EWING as GGGGrandparent
from my family information. I can only assume I am related to JOHN ALLRED & AMELIA ARMSTRONG
as GGGrandparent. It would seem from the Estate Records that Elizabeth Allred & James Armstrong
were fist cousins & could not have been legally married. There are of course other Elizabeth Allred's.
I don't know how to determine my lineage back past Isaac Allred. Can anyone help me. James Allred (Aldred)

PRIDGEN / STOGNER   October 6, 2003

My Mother's name was Mary Margaret PRIDGEN and was graduated from Rockingham High School in
Richmond County in the early 1930's I believe. She was married to Thurmon Lee STOGNER of
Rockingham. I have been to Rockingham for research but never found anything on the school.
Are there any records available in the library or elsewhere? Mother has Alzheimer's and has
no memory of the correct year and I was just trying to find what I could. I hope to get back
to Rockingham for further research at some point and wondered where I might look. Thank you for
any help. Jane Sogner Thompson

LAMPLEY   September 17, 2003

I have copies of Richmond County Apprentice bonds for four LAMPLEY Children
dated 4, 1798. I need information on the procedure of granting such bonds,
specifically would the court be given the authority to grant same if a(the)
parent(s) were alive?

Would there be other documents or information other than the bond itself? Was
there a legal procedure to terminate the apprentice status at the attainment
of age 21? Any information or reference to written material would be helpful...
Thank you, Bobbie Sue Honour

MCRAE   June 16, 2003

My name is John Wayne McRAE. My GGGGrandfather Christopher McRAE was a Patriot in the Revolution and
owned land in Robson County . He bought land in Minturn ,SC, in 1805 ,died in 1813-1815. I recently had
the pleasure to walk on his land in SC and visit with McRaes who still live on the land. My question is,
there is a cemetery on NC 130 south of Maxton . It was late in the day and I ran out of film and darkness
precluded me from writing down the names . There are 67 McRaes in the approximatelly 100 x 200 foot cemetery.
The gentleman next door to the cemetery says its called the McClain or McLean Cemetery. It sets on west
side of the road in a right hand curve..Do you have or know someone who has a list of the folks buired
there. I live in Jacksonville, Florida and work full time. I spend my vacation time looking for cousins.
Thanks for any help you can give, John McRae
