Died on the 13th instant, at his residence in Richmond county, N.C., Edward Wilkison, in the 89th year of his age. The deceased has left a large family and circle of friends to lament his departure. But But we believe their loss is his gain. He had long been a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church at Laurel Hill; and his surviving friends have abundant cause of thankfulness for the evidence left that he fell asleep in Jesus, and that his spitit has gon to an inhabitation not made with hands. But few arrive at his age, and fewer still retain their mental powers as he did; for they were almost unimpaired to the last (addit.)
