WILL OF JOHN F. LEDBETTER

State of North Carolina
Richmond County.
		I, J. F. Ledbetter do hereby make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following: to wit; 
that all just debts against my estate shall be paid out of my personal property provided there shall be enough personal property 
other than my houshold and kitchen furniture, to pay such debts: otherwise, enough land to be sold to finish paying said debts.

1st  I will and bequeath to John S Ledbetter in trust for my son Wm. H. Ledbetter fifty (50) acres of land including the house he 
now lives in which piece or parcel of land has been laid off and described with a view to making him a title deed to it; which 
description was destroyed when my dwelling was burned.

2nd  I will and bequeath to J S Ledbetter in trust for my said son Wm. H. Ledbetter the one fourth (1/4) part of the remainder of 
my lands.

3rd  I will and bequeath to Isabella Ledbetter wife of P. A. Ledbetter, during her natural life the one fourth (1/4) part of said 
land to includ the house in which P. A. Ledbetter now lives together with the houses and improvements near said dwelling: and after 
the death of said Isabella Ledbetter this lot to be divided in the manner following; viz: one share to the children of Thomas M Ledbetter 
begotten of his wife Bettie (Pool) Ledbetter, one share to Robert A Ledbetter, one share to Sallie May Coggins, one share to Johnsie 
Ledbetter, and one share to Judia Ledbetter.

4th  I will and bequeath to my son John S. Ledbetter the one fourth (1/4) part of said lands belonging to me.

5th  I will and bequeath to my beloved wife during her natural life the one fourth (1/4) of the above described lands- this lot is 
to include my present dwelling and premises- also all my personal property not herein-before disposed of: and at her death to go to 
our only daughter Mary Elizabeth Ledbetter.

And I do hereby appoint my son John S. Ledbetter and my nephew Henry D. Ledbetter executors of this my last will and testament, this 
the 13th day of September 1899.
Explanation.  The bequest of fifty acres (50) to Wm H Ledbetter is for value received, P A Ledbetter's houses are not to be taken into 
consideration in valuing the apportionment to Isabella Ledbetter: also in the 5th apportionment the houses are not to be valued.
