Richmond County Superior Court.
We learn that at this court, held last week, Judge Saunders presiding, the Civil Docket was disposed of and the State Docket taken
up on Wednesday afternoon, when John Bushee was tried for stealing a horse from Eli Gibson, in December last. The evidence showed
that on the morning after the horse was stolen, it was seen in the possession of Bushee and George McDonald, in Bladen, and two
days afterwards Bushee was convicted, prayed benefit of clergy, and was sentenced to receive 12 lashes at the whipping post. For
the State, Robert Strange, Esquire Solicitor. For the prisoner, J.W. Cameron and J.A. Richardson, Esquires.
