The photos from this page contain valuable clues for anyone searching for an ancestor who may have resided in the section of Anson County
which became Richmond in 1779. There are a few records from Cumberland and Craven Counties. The name "Morgan Brown" appears
in almost all photos on this page. He is thought to have moved to Davidson County, Tennessee about 1805.

First Census of United States (1790) showing heads of families in Cheraw, South Carolina District (1 page of several) Morgan Brown listed above the name Thomas Vining in the center column about half way down, maybe a little more. This is Cheraws District SC, this Thomas Vining's land was in Anson NC
territory, but as the border shifted between NC and SC he became a part of Cheraws District SC. Both Morgan Brown and Thomas Vining have a Thomas WADE connection in Anson NC records and in NC records one of Thomas Wade's documents state that he is now of "SC".
