OLD MALLOY CEMETERY

"From the small community of Richmond Mill, Scotland County, NC, proceed north on Old Wire Road (SR 1319) for about 1 mile from its intersection with Fieldcrest Road (SR 1303). On the right hand (i.e. south) side of the road, in a small grove of trees within a cleared (at this time) agricultural field is the Malloy Cemetery, about 700 ft from the road. A list of burials for this cemetery can be found in Scotland County Cemetery Records, compiled by J. Kelley Pearson (no date), and located in the Heritage Room of the Scotland County Memorial Library in Laurinburg. However, the list appears to be incomplete. What follows is a list of the burials that were seen on April 1, 2004. It is not an actual transcription of everything that was observed on the gravestones, just names and dates of which some may be questionable because of the varying degrees of preservation of the engravings."
