State of North Carolina No. 2253. To all to whom these presents whose shall come Greeting. Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into out Treasury by Jonathan Huddleston have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Jonathan Huddleston a tract of land containing one hundred acres lying and being in the County of Rutherford on the West side of Elijah Blankenships land and on the south of John Withrows beginning on red oak his own corner then sough seventy eight poles to a white oak then north eighty two west eleven poles to a black oak on old corner of William Huddlestons then with his line south fifty nine east one hundred and thirty two poles to a stake in Elijah Blankenships line then with his line north ten east one hundred sixty poles to a stake in Withrows line then north eighty three west one hundred and thirty poles to a stake then south thirty poles to the beginning entered the 15th day of October 180? As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Jonathan Huddleston his heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General ???bly from time to time may direct provided always that the said grantee shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers office of our said County of Rutherford within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void. In Testimony whereof we have caused these our letter to be made patent and our Great seal to be hereunto affixed. Witness James Turner Esquire our Governor Captain General and Commander in chief at Raleigh. The 24th Day of September in the twenty eight year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight undred and three By Command
