Slave Bill of Sale

Know all men by these presents that I JOEL CHANDLER for and in consideration of the sum of three Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained sold and conveyed unto JOHN ALLISON a certain Negro girl named MARY aged thirteen years to him and his heirs forever, and I do by these presents for myself, my heirs &c warrant the said Negro girl named MARY to be a Slave and sound and healthy. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10 day of Sept 1814.
