Caudill Cabin

We are indebted to Lenny Caudill for this beautiful photo and description.

The cabin belonged to Alford Martin "Martin" Caudill and Frances Jane "Jannie" Blevins. My grandfather, Linnie Famon Caudill, was the first child born to Martin and Jannie. Based upon his birth date and their marriage date, I deduce that the cabin was likely constructed in late 1894 or the spring of 1895. Martin and Jannie had fourteen children although not all of them were born in the cabin.

Martin was the son of James 'Harrison' Caudill. Harrison had twenty-two children.

The cabin is located deep within Basin Cove which is part of Doughton Park, a United States National Park.
