JOSEPH BRADFORD SALE OF ?00 ACRES
ON STAGGS CR TO JOHN TAYLOR, JR FOR $250

This Indenture made & entered into Between Joseph Bradford of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part and John Taylor Jr of the Town of Hillsborough County of Orange & State aforsaid of the other part - Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars in hand paid by the said John Taylor Jr, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, That said Joseph Bradford hath bargained, sold aliened & confirmed & conveyed & by these presents doth bargain sell convey alien & confirm to the said John Taylor Jr. a certain Tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Orange on both sides of Staggs Creek containing by estimation ?00 hundred acres being the same more or less, the said tract of land being the undivided moiety of & is a tract of Land willed by William Bradford, deceased, to the said Joseph Bradford and Thomas Bradford his sons. To have and to Hold the said Tract of Land to the said John Taylor Jr his heirs & assigns forever - And the said Joseph Bradford doth hereby covenant that he will warrant & defend the Title in & to this said Tract of Land to the said John Taylor Jr his heirs & assigns forever against the claim of all persons whomsoever - Witnesseth whereof I do set my hand this 18th January AD 1823

23 JAN 1823 INDENTURE -
SARAH BRADFORD SALE OF 167 ACRES
ON STAGGS CR TO JOHN TAYLOR, JR FOR $250

This indenture made this twenty third day of January One thousand Eight hundred & twenty three between Sarah Bradford, widow & relic of William Bradford deceased of the county of Orange, State of North Carolina of the one part & John Taylor, Jr of the Town of Hillsborough, County & state aforsaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Sarah Bradford for & in consideration of the sum of Two hundred & fifty dollars to her in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained, sold, (aliened?), conveyed & confirmed to the said John Taylor, Jr and by these presents doth bargain, alien, convey & confirm to the said John Taylor Jr, his heirs & assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Orange on both sides of Staggs Creek containing One hundred &sixty seven acres more or less adjoining the lands of Robert Morrow & others the same being the dower of the said Sarah in the Tract of Land on which the said William Bradford, deceased, lived and died. - To have & to Hold the said tract of land to the said John Taylor & his heirs & assigns forever - And the said Sarah Bradford doth covenant that she will (waive?) the Title to her Dower in said Tract of Land to said John Taylor & his heirs & assigns against the claim of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof she doth hereto set her hand and affixed her seal the day & year above written.

THOMAS BRADFORD SALE OF ?00 ACRES
ON STAGGS CR TO JOHN TAYLOR, JR FOR $864.50

This Indenture made this first day of May one thousand eight hundred & twenty three between Thomas Bradford of the County of Orange and State of N Carolina of the one part and John Taylor Junr of the Town of Hillsborough & County & State aforsaid of the other part - Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of eight hundred & sixty four dollars fifty cents to him in hand paid before the signing and sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said Thomas Bradford he the said Thomas Bradford hath bargained &sold and by these presents hath bargained & sold to the said John Taylor his heirs and assigns forever all his the said Thomas Bradfords rights, title & interest in & to all the lands of which William Bradford his father died siezed & possessed which said lands was willed to said Thomas Bradford by said William Bradford, deceased to have and to hold the said undivided moiety in & to said lands to the said John Taylor Jr his heirs & assigns forever - & the said Thomas Bradford doth hereby covenant that he will warrant & defend the Title in & to this said undivided moiety in said Tract of Land to the said John Taylor Jr his heirs & assigns against the claim of all & every person or persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said Thomas Bradford hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year above written.
