To all xtion people…I Thomas Finckley and Elizabeth my wife of the
Collony County and parrish above said physicion…sell unto Joshuah Lamb of
Roxbury in New England merchant all that plantation of mine the sd Finckley
being in the River of Peqimaens alias Berkly in the County of Albermarle in
North Corolina containing in the whole three hundred acres of land…bounded upon
the north west wth a marked red oake joyned upon Samuell Pricklowes land
that was; and so runing along into the woods north east to another marked red
oake and so southerly to a marked red oake joyning on Wm Bundeys land on
the south east side to a forked point betwixt two branches wch by a bill of
saile bearing dated the fifth day of Janauary in 1679/80 was sold unto the said
Finckley by one Francis Tomes of the last mentioned river & also
the said land being part of the contents of two thousand acres or there abouts
included in a cartaine pattent from his majtie signed by Sr William Berkly
beareing dated the fifth day of September 1663…this twenty sixth day of January
1688/89
