To all to whom these Presents shall come. I, Robert Scott, of the County of Albermarle in the Precinct of Bertie Send Greetings& All: Know ye that I the said, Robert Scott, for and in Consideration of the sum of 30 Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge to have Received by John Powell of the Precinct of Bertie at or before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof have given, granted, bargained, sold, alienated, enfeoffed, conveyed, and set over and by these Presents for myself my heirs, executors, and administrators. Do freely, fully, and absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell, alienate, enfeoff, convey, confirm, assign, and set over unto the said John Powell his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the Precinct of Bertie. Beginning at a Hickory, Robert Edwards corner tree, thence East 320 poles to a Pine, thence South 320 poles to a Red Oak standing on the side of Cabbin Branch, thence West 320 poles to Robert Edwards line, thence North along Edwards, his line, 320 poles to the first station including 640 acres as by Patent. Granted me the said, Robert Scott, the 1st day of February AD 1725 will appear. To Have and to Hold the said tract or parcel of land as foresaid. Together peaceably and quietly without any let, hindrance, molestation, of me, my heirs, executors, administrators, or any other person or persons whatsoever with warranty of the same unto the aforesaid Jno. Powell his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns and likewise with all buildings, houses, orchards, and gardens there unto belonging with all woods and under woods with all privileges of hunting, hawking, and fowling and fishing with all profits commodity and hereditament to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Jno. Powell, his heirs, and assigns forever, and the said Robert Scott for himself, his heirs, executors, administrators doth covenant unto the said Jno. Powell, him, his heirs, and assign. I the said Robert Scott hath a good Right Title and Estate in fee simple and hath good right to sell and dispose of the land in manner above and adjoining lands and premises is free from the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons whatsoever and the same will warrant, maintain, and defend forever by these presents unto the said Jno. Powell his heirs and assigns forever. Doth by these presents acknowledge this deed. In Witness: Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th day of November AD 1727. Robt.
