M B Watkins Assistant Clerk Superior Court S B Frink Attorney For Plaintiff 18 December 1935 Compromise In McKay Divorce Action Friday Under Terms Of Settlement Mrs Gladys McKay Will Receive $1,700 From Her Ex-Husband, J J McKay Court Grants Him Absolute Divorce Granted On Grounds Of Two Year Separation Law; He Will Be Required To Pay All Costs In The Case Under the terms of a compromise agreement reached in the McKay divorce case Friday before it went to the jury, Mrs Gladys McKay was awarded a judgment for $1,700 against her former husband, J J McKay, who was granted an absolute divorce upon the grounds of two years separation. Both sides withdrew charges of adultery, with complaint and answer. In the judgment signed by Judge W C Harris, of Raleigh, who presided over the case, it vas ordered that neither party hereto shall hereafter institute or prosecute in any manner whatever any action, criminal or civil, against the other party, or any witness testifying in this case in account of any testimony given or other act done in connection with this action. Four other divorces were granted during court last week. Harris Evans was granted a divorce from Adrian Phelps upon the grounds of two years separation. Litha Phelps was granted a divorce from Adriab Phelps upon the grounds of two years separation. Morris Simmons was granted a divorce from Maggie Simmons upon the grounds of two years separation. Alice Bryant was granted a divorce from Walter Bryant upon the grounds of two years separation. |
