The State of North Carolina
Brunswick County
Know all men by these presents, that we
Jordan Woolard, Joseph Green and John Smith
are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the full sum of Sixteen Hundred Dollars to be paid to the said
State; to which payment well and truly to
be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these
presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated
this 22nd day of March A.D. 1868
The condition of the above obligation is
such, that if the above-bounded Jordan
Woolard Administrator of Hugh Smith, deceased, do make a true and
perfect inventory, and account of sales, of
all the real estate, and all the goods and
chattels, rights and credits of the deceased, which have or shall
come to his possession or knowledge, or to
the possession of any other person for
him, and the same do exhibit into the office of the Court, where order
for administration passed, within ninety
days after the date of these presents, and
do well and truly administer according to law, all the goods, chattels,
rights and credits of the deceased,
and the
proceeds of all the real estate that may
be sold for the payment of the debts, which shall at any time come ot
the posession of the said Jordan Woolard or
to the possession of any other person for
him, and further do make a true and just account of his administration within two years after the
date of these presents, and all the rest
and residue of the said proceeds of real estate, goods, chattels, and
credits which shall be found remaining upon
his account, (the same being first examined
and allowed by the court), shall deliver and pay to such person as the same shall be due unto pursuant to law; and if it
shall appear that any last will and
testament was made by the deceased, and the executor or executors therein named, do exhibit the same
into Court, making request to have it
allowed and proved; and the said Jordan Woolard Administrator above- bound, being thereunto required do render and deliver
the said letters of administration
(probate of such testament being first had and made in the said Court,) then this obligation to be void and of no
effect.

Know all men by these presents that we
Jordan Woolard, R.P. Lennon and J.P. Lennon
all of the county of Brunswick in the State aforesaid are held and
firmly bound unto the State of North
Carolina in the sum of Four hundred fifty dollars
current money to be paid to the said state in trust for the benefit of the children hereinafter named committed to the tuition
of the said Jordan Woolard to the payment
whereof well and truly to be made we bind ouselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and
severally firmly by these presents signed
with our hands and sealed with our seals this the 26th day of January A.D. 1870. The condition of th above obligation
is such that whereas the above bounden
Jordan Woolard is constituted and appointed guardian to Calvin H Smith of the County of Brunswick State of
North Carolina and Thomas Smith of
Columbus County and State of North Carolina, minor orphans of Hugh Smith deceased. Now if the said Jordan Woolard shall
faithfully execute his said guardianship
and particularly shall well and truly secure and improve all the estates of the said Calvin H. Smith and Thomas
Smith that shall come into his posession
for the benefit of the said Calvin H Smith and Thomas Smith until they shall arrive at full age or to be sooner
thereto be required and shall under a
plain and true account his said guardianship on oath before in all cases as required by law, and deliver up pay or
possess the said moneys and lands of all
such estate or estates as they ought to be possessed by when lawfully required by the said Calvin H. Smith and
Thomas Smith onto such other persons as
shall be lawfully empowered or authorized to receive the same and the profits arising therefrom then this obligation is
to be void, otherwise, to remain in full
force and virtue

is his brother in law, and the latter his nephew, and that all the other relatives of the aforesaid minors

value of their personal property is about Fifty Dollars each, and that the said Calvin has an eighth _____ in
240 acres of land.
