had two known marriages:
(1) Elizabeth (Lizzie) REGISTER, daughter of
Gibson and Mary Ann
REGISTER.
(2) Mary Catherine PETERSON, Daughter of
Timothy PETERSON.

To the Worshipful Justices of the
Court aforesaid. The petition of Mary REGISTER humbly complaining
sheweth unto your Worships that Gibson REGISTER late of this county
departed this life some time during the year 1847 intestate, seized and
possessed of one hundred acres of land situate in said county on the
Wilmington Road just above Saml ROWELL, also one other tract, situate
in said county on Dan’s Creek containing one hundred acres. Your
petitioner further sheweth unto your Worships, that she is the lawful
widow of the said Gibson REGISTER, and he left him surviving, Mary Ann,
who is intermarried with George B. KING, John REGISTER, Kilby REGISTER
an infant, Shadrack REGISTER an infant, and Henry H. WILLIAMS who
intermarried with Elizabeth REGISTER a daughter of said Gibson, said
Eliza having died before the decease of said Gibson, leaving her
surviving the following children to wit Gibson, Mary Jane, Ann Eliza,
Agnes, and Abram WILLIAMS minors. Your petitioner therefore prays your
worships that Dower in said lands many be allotted to her according to
the provision of the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided,
and that a copy of this petition may be served upon such of the parties
as are of age and that some suitable person be appointed guardian ad
litem to protect the interests of the minors mention in this petition,
& your petitioner as is duty bound will ever pray.

held & firmly bound unto the State aforesaid in Sum of One thousand
dollars the payment whereof well & truly to be made we bind
ourselves our heirs executors administrators & assign jointly
severally & firmly by these present Signed & sealed this 15th
day of January 1864.
The condition of the above delegation is
Such that the above bounded H
H Williams has made application for a license of marriage to be
celebrated between him & Mary Catharine Peterson Now if it shall
not hereafter appear that there is any lawful cause to Obstruct Said marriage then this obligation
to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue

William Franklin SUMRALL and Mary Frances ANDERSON of SUMRALL, MS. John
Paul died and is buried in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He worked most
of his life in the turpentine business in (FL, MS, LA, and TX). (A
descendant of John Paul WILLIAMS is participating in the WILLIAMS
FAMILY DNA project (#9263 James C. WILLIAMS). This project can be

In 1880, Mary Catherine and her three sons
were found living with her
great Uncle, Isham PETERSON in Bladen Co., NC . She is buried in the
Natemore Cemetery, (a.k.a Holmes Hill Cemetery) in Bladen Co., NC.
M. C. WILLIAMS, Feb. 4, 1842 - Sept. 17,
1892. A grave of a possible
grandson is near her.

Family of Gibson Williams
GIBSON WILLIAMS was born Abt. 1834 in North
Carolina. He married
Adeline (Addie) ROBBINS, daughter of Joel Absalom ROBBINS. Addie was
born Feb 13, 1836 in the North West District of Brunswick Co., NC. She
died July 12, 1911 in Wilmington, NC. and is buried in the
Benfield-Chinnis Cemetery, Phoenix, NC.

Mar 1946.
5. LIZZIE WILLIAMS, b. Abt. 1877.
Gibson was found living in New Hanover Co.,
NC when the 1880 NC Federal Census was enumerated. He was working as a
laborer. His sister, Agnes WILLIAMS, was also living with his family
and working as a seamstress.

Alice Virginia
WILLIAMS, daughter of
James Gibson WILLIAMS and his wife, Addie ROBBINS, was born in 1874,
and died March 4, 1946. She married (1) Thomas ROBBINS abt. 1890. She
married (2) Wallace Henry STYRON, II, son of Wallace STYRON and
Elizabeth OWENS, sometime between 1906 - 1930. Wallace Styron, II was
born August 25, 1877, and died January 27, 1953. Alice Virginia and her
second husband, Wallace Henry STYRON, II are buried in Bellevue
Cemetery, Wilmington, New Hanover Co., NC.

ROBBINS is:
1. DAISY LEE ROBBINS, b. 07 Dec 1906,
Phoenix, Brunswick Co., North Carolina; d. 17 Jul 1935, Wilmington, New
Hanover Co., North Carolina. DAISY LEE ROBBINS is buried in Bellevue
Cemetery, Wilmington, New Hanover Co., North Carolina.
