Will of Isaac Reynolds, October 9, 1869

In the name of God Amen

I, Isaac Reynolds of the State of North Carolina, and County of Brunswick, being of sound mind and memory but being of feeble health, and taking into consideration the precariousness of human life, do make this my last will and testament.

First I give demise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Eunice two hundred and eighty-eight acres of land. It being the tract whereon I now live and the entire amount of my real estate together with all the personal property of which I am possessed to have and to hold to her the said Eunice for and during the time of her natural life in satisfaction for and in lieu of her dower and ( __) of and in all my real and personal estate.

Item: After the death of my wife Eunice, I give and demise to my eldest son Mark Wicklief forty-eight acres of land it being the lot designated Number 1 on the plat of my land bearing date July 22, 186(9?) to have and to hold to him and his heirs in fee simple forever.

Item: I give and demise unto my second son Isaac Doil forty-eight acres of land it being the lot designated Number 5 on the same plat to have and to hold to him and his heirs in fee simple forever.

Item: I give and demise to my third son Frederick forty-eight acres of land it being Lot No. 2 on the same plat to have and to hold to him and his heirs in fee simple forever.

Item: I give and demise to my fourth son Sterling Bund forty-eight acres of land it being Lot 6 on the same plat to have and to hold to him and his heirs in fee simple forever.

Item: I give and demise to my fifth and youngest son Enoch, forty-eight acres of land, it being Lot No 3 on the same plat the one on which I now live to have and to hold to him and his heirs in fee simple forever.

Item: I give and demise to my only daughter Mary Ann forty-eight acres of land it being lot No. 4 on the same plat and the one on which she now lives to have and to hold to her and to her heirs in fee simple forever.

Item: My will and desire is that all my personal property shall be sold and that the proceeds be equally divided and paid over to all my children in equal
proportion, share and share alike, to them, and each and every of them, their executors, administrators and assigns, absolutely forever.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Isaac D. Reynolds my lawful executor to all intent and purposes to execute this my last will and
testament , according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof, hereby evoking and declaring (________) void all
other wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

In witness whereof, I the said Isaac Reynolds do herewith set my hand and seal this the 9th day of October AD 1869

The execution of the foregoing will is duly proved before me the undersigned, Judge of Probate, for the County aforesaid, by the oath and examination of C.W. Reynolds and H. M. Milliner subscribing witnesses thereto who being duly sworn, dispose and say, that they saw the testator sign said will and that he acknowledged the same to be his will and that they signed the same as witnesses, at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other. Let it be registered together with the certificate Given under my hand the 17th day of July 1870

Personally appeared before me the undersigned, Judge of Probate for the County aforesaid-Isaac D. Reynolds, who being duly sworn, depose and says that he is the executor named in the will of Isaac Reynolds now offered for probate-that the testators property as near as can be ascertained is in (__) of about the value of $900-1 horse valued at $75, Household and Kitchen furniture about $100, Plantation and Carpenter tools about $30, that the parties entitled to the estate's property are first the widow, residing in Brunswick County , then to the children, Mark W., Isaac D., Frederick, Sterling B., Mary A and Enoch (a minor without a guardian, all residents of Brunswick County Sworn to and subscribed Before me the 17th day of January 1870 Isaac D.
