This indenture made November the 21st day
A.D. 1862 between Josiah B. Wilkins on the one part and Julia Daniel
wife of David J. Daniel on the other part both parties of the county of
Brunswick and State of North Carolina witnesseth that the said Josiah
Wilkins for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to
him in hand paid by the said Julia Daniel wife of David J. Daniel at
the time of executioning these presents the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath sold conveyed aliened granted and confirmed and by
these presents doth grant bargain sell convey alien and confirm unto
the said Julia Daniel wife of David J. Daniel her heirs and assigns a
certain piece or parcel of land in the county and state aforesaid
situate and adjoining the lands of Wells, Carroll, & others.
Beginning at a sweet gum Carroll's corner runs thence north five east
nine chains to a stake then north sixty six west twenty one chains to a
stump then south fifteen twenty eight chains to a stump thence south
sixty six east three and one fourth chains to a stake thence north
sixty six east twenty six chains to the first station containing forty
acres more or less. To have and to hold the said land and premises and
all and singular the tenements hereditaments woods ways waters mines
minerals rents issues profits remainders privileges and appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in anywise appurtaining to her the said Julia
Daniel wife of David J. Daniel her and the heirs of her body to her and
their own use and behoof in fee simple forever. And the said J.B.
Wilkins and his heirs all and singular the premises hereby conveyed to
the said Julia Daniel wife of David J. Daniel her and the heirs of her
body shall and will warrant and forever defend from the lawful claim or
claims of any and all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said
Josiah B. Wilkins hath hereunto set his hand and seal.

The execution of the foregoing deed is duly
