I <strong>LUKE LAMB\u00a0<\/strong>of Camden County and the State of North Carolina being of sound mind &amp; memory, blessed be to God do this 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0day of December 1820 make &amp; publish this my Last Will and Testament in the manner following that is to say,\u00a0I leave the use of the land that I <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">bought of<\/span> BUNT?, Gale, Ferebee, &amp; Jinkins as I have divided it to my Daughter<strong>\u00a0PEGGY ETHERIDGE<\/strong>\u00a0for &amp; during her natural life and no longer after her death I give the sd. land to the heirs of her own body begotten..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">ITEM: I leave the use of the land I bought of Simons &amp;\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">Jarvis\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">as I have divided it to my daughter\u00a0<strong>LYDIA DOZIER<\/strong>\u00a0during her natural life and no longer after her death I give the sd. Lands to the heirs of her own<\/span>\u00a0body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">ITEM: I leave the land that I bought of John Williams called Biges to my two Grand Children\u00a0<strong>TULLY DOZIER<\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>&amp; <strong>LOVEY McBRIDE<\/strong>\u00a0to be equally divided when<strong> TULLY\u00a0<\/strong>arrives to lawful age but if<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0either should die non age the survivor shall inherit and I give the said lands after their death to the heirs of their own body but if they should leave no heirs of their own body I give the said lands to my own children that is then\u00a0<\/span>living.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">ITEM: I leave the use of the land I bought of Noah Sawyer&#8230; Sawyer or Demsey Sawyer and part<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">of the land I bought of Enoch Sawyer to my daughter <strong>CLOE HERRING<\/strong>\u00a0during her natural life and no longer and after her death I give the said lands to the male heirs of her own body forever, and\u00a0I give my right of the third of Iramans? Sawyer widows thirds to William Herring forever, and I leave my Daughter <strong>CLOE HERRING<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0three negroes Moses, Joe, and Easter during her natural life &amp; no longer &amp; then to the heirs of her own body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">ITEM: I leave the use of the land bought of Robert &amp; Griffith Gregory<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0to my daughter\u00a0<strong>SALLY DOZIER<\/strong>,\u00a0as it is bounded by John Lamb and others during her natural life &amp; no longer &amp; then I\u00a0give the said land to the male heirs of her own body, and I give my said Daughter one negro girl Dinah. I leave the use of the land bought of Abner Lamb on the west side of the Great Ditch to my daughter\u00a0<strong>PHOEBE DOZIER\u00a0<\/strong>during her natural life and no longer &amp; then I give the\u00a0said lands to the heirs of her own body lawfully begotten, and I leave the use of two negroes\u00a0<\/span>Lamb and Luke.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">ITEM: I give to my son <strong>ABNER LAMB\u00a0<\/strong>that part of the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">Lake land that joins\u00a0Gideons\u00a0heirs &amp; <strong>CLOE HERRINGS<\/strong>\u00a0from the canal to the backline &amp; part of the\u00a0Creek Swamp to the mill run, and three\u00a0negroes, Robin, Isaac &amp; Jemy \u00a0my still &amp; articles belonging to making of cyder and my wearing\u00a0<\/span>clothes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">ITEM: I\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">give all the land I bought from Abner Lamb on the east side of the Great Ditch and five acres of the land I bought Godfrey<\/span>\u00a0binding Abner Lamb 50 acres that he bought at auction to my Grand Son<strong> ISAAC GREGORY<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">ITEM: I give my grandson<strong>\u00a0MARK GREGORY<\/strong>\u00a0half the new survey\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">on Aronouse Creek Swamp and the land I\u00a0<\/span>bought of Demsey Burgess to him &amp; his heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">ITEM: I give to my granddaughter\u00a0<strong>MARY GREGORY<\/strong>\u00a0the two children\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">that the wench<\/span>\u00a0I gave her before she died.<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">I give my daughter <strong>POLLY FERREL\u00a0<\/strong>two Negro men Timothy &amp; George. I give\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>GIDEON LAMB<\/strong>&#8216;s two sons <strong>WILSON<\/strong> &amp; <strong>GIDEON<\/strong> all the lake land that is not given &amp; half the\u00a0Creek Swamp to the run of the Mill\u00a0<\/span>forever.<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">I leave the use of the Negro Reuben, Cloe &amp; children and her Increase &amp; the girl Cloe<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0that I lately bought for my granddaughter, <strong>LUCY SPRUEL<\/strong>\u00a0during her natural life &amp; no longer, and at her\u00a0death I give the said negroes to such children as she may have living at that time. But if my\u00a0said Grand Daughter <strong>LUCY SPRUEL<\/strong>\u00a0should die without child or children living at her death, I\u00a0give the said negroes to my own children that may be living at that time. And I appoint my son <strong>ISAAC LAMB<\/strong>\u00a0&amp; his Executors guardians to my Grand child\u00a0<strong>LUCY SPRUEL<\/strong>,\u00a0with respect to the property given to her I am willing and agreed that\u00a0<strong>BAILEY SPRUEL<\/strong>\u00a0shall keep the said negroes in his\u00a0possession free from charge for the same as long as my said Grand Daughter <strong>LUCY\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0guardian hereby\u00a0appointed shall think fit &amp; no longer he the said Spruel supporting &amp; educating my said Grand Child in the time &amp; he the said Spruel shall under no pretence whatsoever remove the said negroes out of this County. And I hereby nominate my two Sons <strong>ISAAC LAMB<\/strong> &amp; <strong>ABNER LAMB<\/strong>\u00a0executors to this my Last Will &amp; Testament the day and date above written. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Signed, Sealed &amp;\u00a0<\/span>acknowledged to be the Last Will and Testament of the Testator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">LUKE LAMB Sen.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">\u00a0(seal)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">Acknowledged in the presence of us <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">As his last will<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">John Ferrell\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\">Joseph Linton \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>John Chamberlain \u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">His X\u00a0mark<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cMy cash notes and my small property, that not given I give to my Sons <strong>ISAAC<\/strong>,<strong> JOHN LAMB <\/strong>&amp;<strong>\u00a0 POLLY FERRELL<\/strong>, this is an addition to my Last Will<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium\">LUKE LAMB<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Wrote by my own hand, the gift I gave George to my Daughter <strong>POLLY<\/strong>, I want him valued &amp; put with her part &amp; the balance to be given to her in notes &amp; money.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">These two additions were acknowledged before us as part of this Will.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">John Ferell<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Joseph Linton<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">James Chamberlain<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">His x mark<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">I <strong>LUKE LAMB <\/strong>not intending to revoke or alter any part of my Will otherwise as hereafter named, do make &amp; publish this codicil as part of my Last Will &amp; Testament.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">I give my cash, notes &amp; other small property not given away in the body of my will, but given to my said Sons <strong>ISAAC LAMB<\/strong>, <strong>JOHN LAMB<\/strong> and Daughter <strong>FERRILL<\/strong> share &amp; share alike &amp; my will is that the boy George given to my said Daughter <strong>POLLY FERRELL<\/strong> in the body of my will be valued at Four Hundred dollars &amp; come into this division &amp; be a part of her share &amp; to make her share together with said valuation equal to the share of my Son <strong>ISAAC LAMB<\/strong>, or the share of my Son <strong>JOHN LAMB<\/strong> and it is also my will that Boy Sandy for which my Son<strong> ISAAC LAMB<\/strong> has a bill of sale be valued at Three Hundred dollars &amp; be a part of his share in said division.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">The money I sold the two negroes for say? The negroes I gave in the body of my will to Grand Daughter <strong>MARY GREGORY<\/strong> now<strong> PALMER<\/strong> I give to my executors forever in trust to be laid out in the purchase of real estate at their discretion to be conveyed the use to the said <strong>MARY PALMER<\/strong> during her natural life &amp; no longer &amp; the to the heirs lawfully begotten on her body forever. The sum is Five Hundred &amp; Fifty dollars out of which my said executors to retain for their troubell in buying said land &amp; making said conveyances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Signed, Sealed &amp; Acknowledged by me as a part of my Last Will and Testament the 28<sup>th<\/sup> day of March 1822.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><strong>LUKE LAMB\u00a0<\/strong> seal<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Signed sealed &amp; acknowledged in presents of us<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Joseph Brown<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Willoughby Jones\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Camden County Court May Term 1822<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">The foregoing was exhibited in open Court &amp; proved as the Last Will &amp; Testament of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: medium\"><strong>LUKE LAMB Sen<\/strong>.
