Chowan Baptist Female College;<\/span><\/p>\n

The commencement exercises of the above institution, located at<\/span>
\nMurfreesboro, N.C., took place last week.\u00a0 Rev. A. McDowell is the<\/span>
\nprinciple. Quite a number of distinguished Baptist ministers were present,<\/span>
\namong them Rev. Drs. Wingate,\u00a0 Toy, T.G. Jones, J.H. Mills and others.\u00a0 The<\/span>
\nannual sermon was preached by Rev. T.G. Jones, of Norfolk, and the annual<\/span>
\naddress was delivered by Rev. T.G. Toy, of Greenville, SC.\u00a0 The following<\/span>
\nyoung ladies graduated, viz,:\u00a0 Miss M.O. Spright, of Gates county; Miss<\/span>
\nAnnie Newsome, of Hertford county;\u00a0Miss Susie A. Spencer, of Camden county<\/span><\/i><\/b>;<\/span>
\nMiss Arvo H. Moore, of Murfreesboro; Miss Sallie E. McDowell, Murfreesboro;<\/span>
\nand Miss Rosa O. Beale, of Hertford county.<\/span><\/p>\n
