June 17, 1822<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of God Amen! The Seventeenth of June in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred & Twenty Two. I\u00a0MALACHI\u00a0GODFREY<\/strong>\u00a0of the County of Camden in the State of North Carolina being very weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to almighty God for the same, and calling to mind the mortality of my body, & knowing that it appointed for man once to die, do make, ordain and publish this my Last Will and Testament—viz.<\/span><\/p>\n

Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter\u00a0WEALTHY\u00a0GODFREY<\/strong>\u00a0one chest & feather bed & to my Daughter\u00a0MARY\u00a0GODFREY\u00a0<\/strong>I give one chest & ???<\/span><\/p>\n

I lend unto my beloved Wife\u00a0LYDIA GODFREY<\/strong>, all my lands & plantation together with all my household goods and chattels. Rights & credits, and all my stock of every kind unto her her life time and at her dec I give to my two children\u00a0MARY GODFREY<\/strong>\u00a0&\u00a0WEALTHY\u00a0GODFREY<\/strong>\u00a0all my lands and plantations together with all the remainder part of my household goods & chattels rights & credits, and all my stock of every kind unto them and their heirs and assigns forever to be equally divided between the two children at her dec\u2019d.<\/span><\/p>\n

I also appoint my beloved Wife\u00a0LYDIA GODFREY<\/strong>\u00a0and my two children my hole and sole Executors to this my Last Will and Testament disalowing all & every other Will by me made before this confirming this to be my Last & Testament.<\/span><\/p>\n

By the testator to be his Last<\/span><\/p>\n

This Last Will & Testament of\u00a0MALACHI GODFREY\u00a0<\/strong>dec\u2019d was exhibited and proved in open Court by the oath of JOHN KITE<\/strong> one of the subscribing witnesses thereto.\u00a0LYDIA GODFREY<\/strong>\u00a0the Executrix therein named appeared & qualified according to Law. Ordered that the Will be recorded & letters Testamentary issue.<\/span><\/p>\n
