WRIGHT (1842 Will)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Will of<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium\">GAMIEL WRIGHT<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">1842<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">State of North Carolina, Camden county<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">I <strong>Gamiel Wright<\/strong> being of sound mind and memory blessed be God do this <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">29th day of January 1840 make and publish this my last will and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">testament. I give my property in the following manner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 1: I give and bequeath all of my land and plantation where on I <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">now live to be equally divided between <strong>Gamiel Wright<\/strong> and <strong>Burfoot Wright<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">sons of <strong>Benjamin Wright<\/strong> dec\u2019d to them and their heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 2: I give and bequeath to <strong>Mary Williams<\/strong> the land that I bought of <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><strong>Jno. Williams<\/strong> to her and her heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 2: I give and bequeath to <strong>Mary Porter<\/strong> two negroes namely ? and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">girl ? to her and her heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 3: I leave the use of negro man Isaac to <strong>Francis Garrett<\/strong> during <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">her natural life and at her death I give him to her lawful heirs <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 4: I leave my negro woman Phillis and one half of negro man named <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Simon to be sold by my executor and the money paid to <strong>Priscilla <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><strong>Legrange<\/strong> at fifty dollars from sale and if the said <strong>Priscilla<\/strong> should <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">not to live to use the sale of said negroes and in that case I give the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">balance left at her death to her heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 5: I give one half of negro man George to <strong>Mary Stephens<\/strong> at the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">death of <strong>Susan Taylor<\/strong> to her and her heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 6: I leave all of my chattle, property not already given away to <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">be sold by my executor and after paying all of my just debts and lawful <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">expenses I give the balance thats left in his hands to <strong>Mary Stephens <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">the wife of <strong>Luke Stephens<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Item 7: And lastly I nominate and appoint my worthy friend <strong>John S. <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><strong>Burgess<\/strong> executor to this my last will ans testament in witness whereof <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">I here unto set my hand and seal day and date first above written.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"> G. Bell, Albert Rooker<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Camden county court Sept. Term 1842<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">This last will and testament of <strong>G. W. Wright<\/strong> was exhibited in open <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">court and the executor of said will was proved in open court in due <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">form of law by <strong>D. C. Bell<\/strong> one of the subscribing witnesses there to and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><strong>John Burgess<\/strong> executor named in said will come into open court and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">qualified as such by taking the necessary oath whereupon it was ordered <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">by the court to be recorded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"> Teste A.
