2537. Ralph Eugene HERMAN was born on 2 March 1922 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 18 February 2005 at the age of 82 in Valley Nursing Center, Taylorsville, North Carolina. He was buried in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Catfish community, Catawba County, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: TAYLORSVILLE - Ralph Eugene Herman, 82, of Claremont, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville. He was born March 2, 1922, to Hillary Herman and Adelaide Garris Herman in Catawba County. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Marshall Herman. Ralph was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was retired from E.R. Carpenter, where he worked as a security guard. Loved ones left to cherish his memory include his wife, Frances Hollar Herman of the home; two daughters, Sandie Christenbury and husband, Jim, and Ginger Carpenter and husband, Joe; three grandchildren, Jimmy Christenbury and wife, Leanne, Mark Sigmon and wife, Alicia, and Meleah Carpenter; two stepgrandchildren, Joanna Carpenter Huffman and husband, Jason, and Paul Carpenter and wife, Jennifer; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Maggie Christenbury and Mason Sigmon; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Drew and Jake Huffman; two sisters, Jean Ervin and husband, Tommy, of Troutman and Thelma Lee of Charlotte; and two special friends, Then Hollar and Clyde Fox of Claremont. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Bethel Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Pastor Craig Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark A. Sigmon, Jimmy D. Christenbury, Then Hollar, Tony Hollar, Gene Setzer and Tyler Yancey. Ralph Eugene HERMAN and Frances HOLLAR were married estimated 1945. Frances HOLLAR, daughter of T. Clinton HOLLAR and Rhoda E. LITTLE, was born on 23 November 1925 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 11 June 2006 at the age of 80 in Claremont, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Catfish community, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: CLAREMONT - Frances H. Herman, 80, of Herman Road, Claremont, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at her residence. Born Nov. 23, 1925, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Clinton and Rhoda Little Hollar. She retired from Ridgeview Hosiery Mill after 42 years of service. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Herman. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra H. Christenbury and husband, Jimmy, and Ginger H. Carpenter and husband, Joe, of Claremont; grandchildren, Jimmy Christenbury and wife, Leanne, Mark Sigmon and wife, Alicia, and Meleah Carpenter; stepgrandchildren, Joanna Huffman and husband, Jason, and Paul Carpenter and wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Jacob Christenbury, Maggie Christenbury, Lillie Christenbury, Mason Sigmon and Alaney Sigmon and stepgreat-grandchildren, Drew Huffman and Jake Huffman. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. today at Bethel Lutheran Church. The Revs. Craig Schultz and Edward F. Meyer will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy D. Christenbury, Mark Sigmon, Ken Hollar, Gene Setzer, Eugene "Son" Huffman and Paul Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Fox and Jay Morrow. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. today at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home of Sandie Christenbury, 5372 Herman Road, Claremont.
