4406. Edna Lee DRUM was born on 14 October 1919 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 2 May 2005 at the age of 85 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Eastview Cemetery, Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON - Edna Lee Drum Huffman, 85, of North Ashe Avenue, Newton, passed away Monday, May 2, 2005, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born Oct. 14, 1919, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Drum Sr. and Ella Travis Drum. She was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church in Newton, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 16, Newton, and owner and operator of Rhonda’s Daycare for 46 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Macon Huffman; and a brother, Fred Drum Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Huffman of the home and fiancé, Tim Rash of Lincolnton; a brother, Dr. Jerry Drum Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many special friends. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2005, at 4 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton, with the Revs. Rick Mills and Brad Coley officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview City Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, May 4, 2005, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton. Edna Lee DRUM and Macon Abner HUFFMAN Jr. were married estimated 1933. Macon Abner HUFFMAN Jr., son of Macon Abner HUFFMAN and Sadie BECK, was born on 11 October 1912. He died on 20 July 1975 at the age of 62 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Eastview Cemetery, Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. Macon served in the military (Tec5 US Army WWII).
