Louetta LAIL was born on 23 January 1914 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 22 July 2008 at the age of 94 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in St. Timothy Lutheran Church Cemetery near Conover, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Louetta Lail Huffman, 94, of Conover, died July 22, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born in Catawba County on Jan. 23, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lela (Miller) Lail of Conover. She was a graduate of Highland High School and retired from Hickory Frye Furniture. She was a life member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at Catawba Valley Medical Center for years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Monroe Huffman; two brothers, Dewey Lail and Clifford Ray Lail; a foster brother, John Deal; one sister, Pearl Lail; one grandson, David Rockett; one great-granddaughter, Amanda Rockett; and son-in-law, Charles F. Connor Jr. A son-in-law, Bob Rockett followed her in death. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Eunice Punch and husband, Johnny, of Hickory; three daughters and son-in-law, Faye Rockett of Conover, Jean Connor of Conover and Pat Smyre and husband, Bill, of Newton; grandchildren, Dan Rockett and wife, Kathy, of Hickory, Gina R. Abernethy and husband, Jimmy, of Newton, Ryan Rockett and wife, Janet, of Salisbury, Robin Rockett of Statesville, Amy R. Todd and husband, Whit, of Tulsa, Okla., Todd Miller and wife, Nicole, of Conover, Janet M. Keever and husband, Jeff, of Charleston, S.C., Brandon Miller and wife, Anna, of Conover, Lynette S. Roll and husband, Ken, of Newton and Jeff Smyre of Charlotte; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Home Instead-Hickory for the care and love they gave Louetta while she was at home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Conover, with the Rev. Roger Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Rockett, Todd Miller, Brandon Miller, Jeff Smyre, John Eckerd and Zachary Connor. The family will receive friends from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. E. Pearl LAIL was born on 11 May 1915 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 30 March 2003 at the age of 87 in Conover Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Conover, NC. She was buried in St. Timothy Lutheran Church Cemetery near Conover, Catawba County, NC. E. Pearl Lail, 87, of 3599 Zion Church Road, Hickory, NC, died March 30 at Conover Nursing Center.
Born May 11, 1915 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Elmore and Lela Miller Lail. She was a lifelong member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Women of the Church and Home Extension Club. She was also a member of Farm Bureau and enjoyed bowling. She had worked for over 25 years at Conover Glove and retired after 35 years at Bassett Furniture.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Dewey Lail, Clifford Lail and John Deal.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Rev. Roger Beaver will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Punch, III, Robert Punch, Mark Day, Keith Blalock, Bruce Kennerly, Todd Miller, Walter Deal and Danny Rockett.
