2567. Nola Estelle SETZER was born on 18 December 1915 in Catawba County, North Carolina.²⁶⁵⁵ She died on 29 April 2009 at the age of 93 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Nola Setzer Cline, of Conover, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory as a result of a lingering illness. Nola, 93, was a lifelong resident of Catawba County, where she spent a lifetime devoted to her family, her church and her community. She was an inspiration and role model to all who knew her. Nola was preceded in death by her father, John V. Setzer, and mother, Zella Rena Drum Setzer of Conover; her husband, Emmett W. Cline Sr. (Jack); four brothers, Fred Setzer, Huitt Setzer, J.D. Setzer and Boyd Setzer; three sisters, Emma Setzer, Grace Hoke and Atha Setzer; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Munday Cline. She is survived in life by one sister, Helen McGee of Conover; three sons, Emmett W. Cline Jr. (Woodie) of Conover (and wife, Martha Ann), Richard L. Cline (and wife, Beckey) of Houston Texas, and Darwin E. Cline (and wife, Susan) of Greenville S.C.; four grandchildren, Natalie Alexander (and husband, Steve) of Granite Falls, Amy Sanger (and husband, Joe) and Brent Cline (and wife, Tammy), all of Charlotte, and Kimberlee Henke (and husband, Ben) of Dallas, Texas; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Drum Funeral Home in Conover. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Conover. Pastor Justin Kane will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Joe Sanger, Brent Cline, Steve Alexander, Jay Setzer, Melvin Cline and James Setzer will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Hubert Setzer, Rick Setzer and Ben Henke. The family expresses thanks to all who have provided support during this difficult time, with special thanks to caregiver Clara Ward for the love, care and special relationship she had with Nola. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2448 Emmanuel Church Road, Conover, N.C. 28613.
