2568. Grace Irene SETZER was born on 30 December 1917 in Catawba County, North Carolina.²¹⁷⁷ She died on 4 October 2008 at the age of 90 in Alberta House Care Center, Conover, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Grace Irene Setzer Hoke, 90, of Conover, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Alberta House in Conover. Born Dec. 30, 1917, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late John Vest Setzer and Rena Drum Setzer. She retired from Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, J.D. Setzer, Boyd Setzer and Hewitt Setzer, and sister, Atha Setzer. Mrs. Hoke is survived by her husband of 60 years, Claude William "Bill" Hoke of the home, and sisters, Nola Cline of Conover and Helen McGee of Conover. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover, with the Rev. Michael Kane officiating. Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service, at the church on Monday.
