Donald Lee Setzer POPE and Revonda KIZIAH were married estimated 1945. Revonda KIZIAH, daughter of June H. KIZIAH and Fredricka KIRBY, was born on 19 November 1928 in Catawba County, North Carolina.¹⁶⁸⁵ She died on 25 April 2011 at the age of 82 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Revonda June Kiziah Pope, 82, of Hickory, passed away on April 25, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley. Revonda was born on Nov. 19, 1928 in Catawba County, the daughter of J. H. and Fredricka Kirby Kiziah. She was retired from Lane Venture and had previously worked at Carpenter Co. early in her career. She was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church (LCMS). Revonda loved taking care of her home and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald S. Pope; a sister, Bernice Kiziah Mason and a brother J. H. Kiziah, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Trudy Finch-Allen and Fianc‚, Robert G. Carswell, Jr. of Hickory; a son, Terry Lee Pope and wife, Gloria of Hickory; two sisters, Maxine Kiziah Bowman of Gaffney, S.C. and Shirley Kiziah Lingafelt of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Crystal Trinkle and husband, Rick of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jason Finch and wife, Nicole of Anderson, S.C., Tracy Finch of Hickory, Justin Pope of Hickory and Brandon Pope of Hickory; five great-grandchildren, Aaron Miles, Colin Finch, Elizabeth Finch, Casey Trinkle and Liana Trinkle. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
