4330. Esther Louise HUFFMAN was born on 9 March 1923 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 30 April 2006 at the age of 83 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Esther Louise Huffman Beach Chamblee, 83, of Hickory, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born March 9, 1923, in Catawba County, she was the second child of the late Lee Jesse Moran and Jessie Propst Huffman. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Miller's Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Claremont Central (Hickory) High School and earned her secretarial credentials at Lenoir-Rhyne College. She worked for many years in the Hickory area as an office manager and bookkeeper. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Lewis Beach; three sisters, Edna Huffman Whitworth, Anita Huffman Morris and an infant; two brothers, Lee Clement "L.C." and Ervin Moran Huffman; and an infant son, Ronald Stuart Beach. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Beach Bell and husband, Glenn, of Atlanta, Ga., and Deidre Beach Petty and husband, Ron, of Valle Crucis; three grandsons, John F.L. Andrews and wife, Shannon, of Raleigh, Aaris Blair Petty of Hickory and J. David Andrews of South Daytona, Fla.; a granddaughter, Heather Andrews Clark and husband, Marty, of Marietta, Ga.; a great-granddaughter, Mary Catherine Andrews of Raleigh; three sisters, Larue H. (Mrs. William) Isenhour of Hickory, Louetta H. Nicholson of Sylva and Nellie Jean H. (Mrs. Charles) Robertson of Newton; a brother, Dolan L. Huffman and wife, Betty, of Hickory; two sisters-in-law, Reba Huffman and Pat Huffman of Hickory; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Richard Fritz Jr. at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Hickory. Burial will follow in the family gravesite in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the church.
