June Elizabeth SIGMON, daughter of Luther Robert SIGMON and Edna PARLIER, was born on 5 June 1927 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 7 February 2008 at the age of 80 in Claremont, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: June Elizabeth Sigmon Setzer, 80, of Claremont, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 7, 2008 at her home. Born June 5, 1927 in the St. James area of Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Robert Sigmon and Edna Parlier Sigmon. June was raised in the Christian faith at St. James Lutheran Church near Newton, NC. She graduated from Balls Creek High School in 1943. Music was a major part of June's life. She taught piano for over 40 years and was organist at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont for 30 years, where she was still a member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Sigmon and Fred Sigmon. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Hoyle C. Setzer, Jr. of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy Hoyle Setzer and wife Becky of Boiling Springs, NC and Luther "Luke" Robert Setzer and wife Leslie of Cocoa Beach, FL; granddaughter, Rebecca Setzer of Boiling Springs, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Richard Sigmon and wife Kay of Newton; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail Marlowe and husband Larry of Alexis, NC and Betty Lois Deal and husband Jim of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are in-laws, Mae Killian and husband Worth of Hickory, Katherine Buchanan of Dry Forks, VA, Rhyne Setzer of Durham, NC, George Setzer of Maiden, NC, and Charles Dan Reed and Lillian Setzer, both of Claremont. A Service of Remembrance will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont with Reverend Malcolm Lerch officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery on Old Catawba Road. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
