Naoma (Naomi) SETZER and George Walter HOKE were married on 30 September 1927 in Catawba County, North Carolina. George Walter HOKE²⁵⁵⁸, son of Avery Maxwell HOKE and Minerva "Minnie" E. MOSER, was born on 22 December 1904 in Catawba County, North Carolina.^2541,2559 He died on 6 June 1956 at the age of 51 in Forsyth County, North Carolina. He was buried in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, Claremont, NC.

4679	i.	George Edwin HOKE was born on 11 August 1930 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 9 November 2011 at the age of 81 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, Claremont, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: CLAREMONT George Edwin Hoke, 81, of Claremont, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born Aug. 11, 1930 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late George Walter and Naomi Setzer Hoke. Mr. Hoke was a long distance truck driver for more than 30 years, being a owner-operator. After retiring from trucking, he was the owner-operator of Hokes Pool Room on Hwy 10 in Claremont. He was of the Methodist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Hoke Cooke; brother, Lane Ellis Hoke; grandson, Shannon Ray Penley; and a nephew Russell Walling. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice Freedle Hoke of the home; daughter, Delores Hoke Penley of Claremont; granddaughter, Deanna Cansler and her husband, Michael of Conover; great-grand-daughter, Allison Penley of Conover; three great-grand-sons, Kyle Cansler and Logan Penley, both of Conover, and Taylor Thornburg of Maiden; a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton with the Rev. Ron Lytle officiating. Pallbearers will be Logan Penley, Michael Cansler, Darrell Hoke, Walter Hoke, Mickey Cooke, Alan Cooke and Derek Smith. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Claremont.
